Meet Aiden: The 18-Year-Old Who Started It All
Every taco we serve traces back to one determined high schooler with a plan. Aiden Sterlin was still in high school when two local restaurateurs, regulars at the gym where he trained every day for months, noticed his work ethic and offered him something unexpected: the keys to a small Park Slope space and a challenge to build a concept from scratch. Aiden picked tacos, a food he was genuinely passionate about and one that fit a high schooler’s budget.
Balancing high school classes with long shifts behind the counter, he turned an idea into a neighborhood favorite in under a year. That same drive built Tacos del Barrio into a citywide name. Today, Aiden still leads our vision: an intentional menu crafted with real technique, quality ingredients, and fair prices for the community we serve.
What started as a local Park Slope favorite has grown into a city-wide love affair with authentic Mexican flavors. Whether you’re a Brooklyn regular or visiting us in Manhattan, welcome to our table.
